Kloten, Switzerland - 8 October 2016: Tetraplegic BCI athlete Supawat Samurpak (THA) is concentrating before the start of the BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) race at Cybathlon, the first championship for racing pilots with disabilities using bionic devices at the Swiss Arena in Kloten (Zurich), Switzerland. At Cybathlon's BCI race, the paraplegic athlete is piloting an avatar through a computer game just with his thoughts. Organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Cybathlon brings together interdisciplinary teams of bio-engineers, scientists and athletes with physical disabilities to compete in solving various everyday tasks and to demonstrate how technology enables them to overcome physical limitations of their body.
