Yeoman Warder Moira Cameron (2nd L) starts work as the first female 'Beefeater' at the Tower of London, 03 September 2007. She becomes the first female in the role in the guards' 522-year history, where her duties will include making sure the Crown Jewels are kept safe and secure. Cameron, who joined the Army at the age of 16, has spent the required 22 years serving in the Forces to become eligible for the prestigious position.
