Women victims of the military crackdown in Myanmar

COX'S BAZAR, BANGLADESH - DECEMBER 19: 32 years old Shatara Begum gestures at a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh on December 19, 2017. Begum's husband and their 12 and 7 years old children were shot dead while fleeing. All of their belongings were burned. They waited for two months at some place where they were treated badly. There, they fed on banana tree leaves. Many of the women lost their husbands before fleeing or while fleeing to Bangladesh. The camps in Bangladesh host thousands of Rohingya refugees who fled a military crackdown in Myanmar. Approximately 650,000 Rohingyas have crossed from Myanmar into Bangladesh since Aug. 25, according to UN figures. (Photo by Firat Yurdakul/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images)
