(Original Caption) This scene at the Nazi concentration camp at Belsen, shows part of the endless pile of corpses of some 60,000 civilian prisoners awaiting burial. Following the arrival of British 2nd Army troops, who forced the German SS guards to dig graves and bury their unfortunate victims. Despite the frantic efforts of British medical units, hundreds of diseased and tortured civilians, jammed into the over crowed camp by the Nazis, died hourly.
