UN Security Council Votes On New Sanctions Against Iran

NEW YORK - MARCH 24: The UN Security Council votes to impose a set of stricter sanctions on Iran for rejecting repeated calls to suspend their uranium enrichment program March 24, 2007 at the United Nations in New York City. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had originally said he would come to the United States to address the U.N. Security Council but declined due to visa issues with his delegation. The International Atomic Energy Agency has said that Iran has successfully enriched uranium and continues related activities in defiance of the UN Security Council.
