Documenta 15 Opens To The Public

KASSEL, GERMANY - JUNE 18: The painting 'Guernica Gaza (2010-2013) - A Family of Farmers' by Mohammed Al Hawajri from the series “Guernica Gaza” hangs at the Documenta 15 modern art fair on June 18, 2022 in Kassel, Germany. The “Guernica Gaza” series shows the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from a Palestinian perspective, and while the paintings themselves have so far not led to controversy, the Palestinian artists collective, The Question of Funding, that represents the painters of the series has because some of its members have openly supported calls for a boycott of Israel. That association has caused ripples of criticism targeting the Documenta with antisemitism. The Documenta 15 fair is open to the public from today to September 25.
