KENYA-AGRICULTURE-ENERGY-SISAL
Some sisal is spun into string and rope for tying bales and for other local uses on a farm in Kilifi on July 9, 2013. The fibres are brushed in huge drums and placed in layers in crates ready for bailing. The energy from sisal waste is converted into both Biogas which provides half the farm's electricity needs as well as biofertiliser which provides nutrients for the young sisal crops. Sisal is an agave plant that yields a stiff fibre traditionally used in making twine, rope and also dartboards. AFP PHOTO/Ivan Lieman (Photo credit should read Ivan Lieman/AFP via Getty Images)
