RANONGGA, SOLOMON ISLANDS: A small island is raised out of the water surrounded by its coral reef, 07 April 2007, which was exposed by the force of the 8.0 magnitude earthquake which lifted the Solomons' island of Ranongga three metres (10 ft). The 02 April 2007 quake triggered a tsunami that killed at least 39 people and 5500 homeless in the Solomon Island western province, where authorities say tsunami refugees in makeshift camps are threatened by diseases caused by unsanitary conditions.
