As U.S. Drawdown In Afghanistan Continues, U.S. Footprint Shrinks In The Country

PUL-E ALAM, AFGHANISTAN - APRIL 03: A series of tents once used as a dining facility sit abandoned in an area on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Shank that is no longer used due to a shrinking population on the FOB on April 3, 2014 near Pul-e Alam, Afghanistan. The facility was one of three dining facilities for servicemen to eat at on the FOB. Soon there will be one. As the U.S. changes its role in the 13-year-old war from combatants to advisors many U.S. military installations in Afghanistan are being downsized or closed.
