River Front
River Front, Cincinnati, Ohio', circa 1897. The John A. Roebling or Cincinnati-Covington Suspension Bridge in Cincinnati, an American boomtown. From 1810 and 1863, its location on the border between the free state of Ohio and the slave state of Kentucky, made it a place of escape from the slave-owning south. From "A Tour Through the New World America", by Prof. Geo. R. Cromwell. [C. N. Greig & Co., London, circa 1897]. Artist Unknown. (Photo by The Print Collector/Getty Images)
