Richard Ravitch, chairman of the chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, tells news conference of emergency plans being put into effect in the wake of the Long Island Railroad strike. He said the MTA will extend rush-hour service on the "E," "F," and "7" subway lines to accommodate additional riders. Morning rush-hour trains will run from 7 AM to 10 AM and evening rush-hour trains will run from 2:30 PM to 7 PM, the MTA said.
