This Makeshift Refugee Camp At Diavata
Refugees and migrants gathered from all over Greece at Diavata to begin their journey to northern Europe as a fake rumor was spread through social media about opening the borders between Greece and North Macedonia. About 1000 migrants set up their tents in the field, previously as they attempted to march towards the borders tension broke between them and the riot police. Migrants burnt also as a demonstration old trash, rubbish at the field causing heavy dark smokes and fumes with firefighters getting involved. The makeshift camp next to Diavata Anagnostopoulou refugee camp, is similar to the conditions of Idomeni with people in tents at the field. Diavata near Thessaloniki in Northern Greece.
