"Soccer World Cup - we'll ruin it!"

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA - MARCH 9: (SOUTH AFRICA, UAE, BRAZIL OUT) Protests over poor service delivery by Mamelodi residents turned violent on March 9, 2010 when protesting residents burnt tyres and other items and barricaded roads in Pretoria, South Africa. Tshwane metro police and Saps members who were called to the scene were pelted with stones. Residents also fired at the police using live ammunition. With only 93 days to go before the start of the 2010 World Cup, residents threatened to disrupt the tournament. They are demanding that the government immediately supply them with houses, electricity, running water and flushing toilets. They told reporters that if the government could spend millions of rands and prepare for the World Cup so quickly, it's a disgrace that people are still living in squalor in squatter camps.
