Tractor Factory
1st October 1955: Production line workers at the Massey-Harris-Ferguson factory on the Moorfield Industrial Estate, Troon Road, in Kilmarnock. Most famous for its tractors, this company produces more than 4,000 a year which are exported to more than 70 countries. The company employs nearly 1,900 people on its 635,000 sq ft site, the largest factory under one roof to be built in Scotland since World War II.
