Pro-police rally and Anti-police protesters counter rally collide at Civic Center Park

DENVER, COLORADO - JULY 19: A Pro-Police Rally supporter, center, who got punched in the face, is led out of the crowd as dueling rallies collided at Civic Center Park on July 19, 2020 in Denver, Colorado. Pro Police Rally Colorado held a rally to celebrate Colorado"u2019s 6th annual law enforcement appreciation day. The rally was organized by Pro Police Rally Colorado. A counter protest was organized by the Party of Socialism and Liberation and held near the state capitol. The anti-police protesters moved into the Pro Police rally"u2019s space in the park"u2019s amphitheater shortly after the demonstration supporting law enforcement started around 3 p.m. The counter protesters dueling rallies devolved quickly into chaos and some violence. The anti-police protesters greatly outnumbered the pro-police crowd. In an attempt to separate the two dueling rallies the Denver Police Department SWAT team tried to separate the two groups.
