Protest And Vigil For Palestine

On October 07 Hamas fighters launched multiple attacks from Gaza killing more than 1,200 Israeli civilians and military personnel, injuring 3,400 others and taken 234 hostages in assaults on towns and kibbutzes in southern Israel. Of the people taken hostage that day, 95 are thought to be still alive in Gaza captivity after others were recovered during a truce and by Israeli military operations. Some have been declared dead in absentia by Israeli authorities. Israel declared a state of war and has staged retaliatory attacks that according to its armed forces have caused numerous casualties. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that since Hamas surprise attack the situation in Gaza has “reached a dangerous new low”. The Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that Since the start of the Israeli operation, more than 34,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, including over 14,000 children and 9,000 women.
