Ronald Reagan and Rolf Botha
(Original Caption) Washington: President Reagan meets with South African Foreign Minister Rolf Botha, in the Oval Office of the White House. The 30 minute meeting was arranged at Reagan's request and followed three hours of talks between Botha and Secretary of State Alexander Haig. The meetings represented the first high level contacts between the two nations since Botha was last in Washington, in 1978, and had sharp disagreements with the Carter administration on human rights.
