(Original Caption) 12/5/1946-Phoenixville, PA- A congressional committee was told that natural gas, to afford a measure of relief from the coal shortage, will probably start flowing through the Big Inch and Little Inch pipelines within 48 hours. Today, 24 hours after the testimony, gas was alfeady moving through the Little Inch. Photo shows the Big Inch at Phoenixville, at the time the last weld was taken several years ago.
