New York City Predicts 200 Percent Jump In Tourism For 2022
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JULY 27: People visit the American Museum of Natural History on July 27, 2022 in New York City. NYC & Company announced this week that New York City is projected to have 8.3 million foreign tourists, a 207 percent increase, this year up from 2.7 million last year. In total, New York is expecting to receive 56 million visitors in 2022, which is a 70 percent surge from 2021. Tourists from more than 30 countries were banned from traveling to the U.S. during the height of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The CDC last month lifted the negative test requirement for travelers, which is leading the way for the boost in tourism. (Photo by Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images)
