People demonstrating, on Friday 13th February, also known as Global Divestment Day, in central Manchester. The demonstrators were calling for the University of Manchester to divest from the fossil fuel industry. -- A protest took place, at the University of Manchester to highlight the institution's, the protesters claim, ��40million investments in the fossil fuel industry. The protest was organised by Fossil Free Manchester. The students held a rally, on University of Manchester grounds, to call for the university to divest from the fossil fuel industry. This was part of the global activities on Global Divestment Day calling for economic divestment from the fossil fuel industry.
