AUG 4 1977, AUG 6 1977 Northwest Coast Indians Demonstrate Their Crafts At Museum Of Natural History Chief Lelooska of Cedar and Salmon people, above, is staying at the museum until Aug. 14 to show the culture of his tribe. The family is composed of adopted members of the Kwakiutl Nation. Andy Ringel, 7, at right, looks on as Smitty, below left, and Richard Smith demonstrate bowl-making at a seminar. Smitty, whose Indian name is Tsungan, and Smith, whose Indian name is Kwunkwa-Dzi, are taking part in program which includes daily demonstrations of woodcarving, jewelry-making, buttonwork and doll-making during regular museum hours, except Aug. 9 and 11. The family will perform dance and drama of tribe at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday and Aug. 13 and 2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at Phipps Auditorium. United Bank is sponsoring visit.
