Joseph Vitolo Praying Before Crowd
(Original Caption) Nine year old Joseph Vitolo, the boy who claims to have seen a vision of the Virgin Mary in a vacant Bronx lot, kneels and prays at an altar a top a huge rock, where the vision is said to have appeared. It was the 13th successive night that the boy had come to pray at the spot. He will say his last prayer on the 16th night. "She told me that something wonderful will happen that night." The boy reported. In spite of the rain, a tremendous crowd stands below, watching Joseph at prayer. There were so many people present that the Grand Concourse, a vast, four lane highway, had to be roped off from traffic.
