Yankees vs Royals Playoffs 1977
New York Yankees vs Kansas City Royals
Yankee powerhouse Reggie Jackson uncorks a shot against the Kansas City Royals in the first inning at Yankee Stadium, but all that effort was in vain and he grounded out. Things got a little better for Yanks in the fifth, when Cliff Johnson rapped one over the wall to tie game at 1-1. The locals went on from there, behind the pitching of Ron Guidry, to beat the Royals, 6-2, and even the AL playoff series at one game apiece. Yanks now have to win two out of three in KC.
