Alexis Ladas, the Voice of America

Ladas, Greek language editor and announcer at the state departments official "Voice of America," broadcasts, is shown as he broadcasts the story, last night, of a wave of bank runs and panic buting in Moscow and other large Russian cities. The broadcast which was in 23 languages stated that the panic buying and bank runs started as a result of rumors to the effect that the Russian Ruble was about to be devalued. Department stores and food stores closed their stores and the Russian banks have limited the withdrawl of money.
