St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig

14 new members of the Thomanerchor (lit. St. Thomas Choir) of the 4th and 5th grade lay down a sunflower at the grave of Johann Sebastian Bach together with Thomas cantor Gotthold Schwarz before the beginning of a motet and, thereby, are officially admitted to the choir in the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany, 12 August 2017. Most of the future Thomas Choir singers have already collected their first choir experience in special primary schools. But when they enter into the famous ensemble they have to improve quickly. Thomas cantor Gotthold Schwarz explains how it is done. Photo: Matthias Rietschel/dpa (Photo by Rainer Könen/picture alliance via Getty Images)
