MANHATTAN, NY - JUNE 06: Musician Jon Batiste sings while his band jams for the crowd of people that have followed him onto to 6th Avenue from Union Square for a We Are, A Peaceful Protest March. Protesters keep taking to the streets across America and around the world after the killing of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer Derek Chauvin that was kneeling on his neck during his arrest as he pleaded that he couldn't breathe. The protest are attempting to give a voice to the need for human rights for African American's and to stop police brutality against people of color. Many people were wearing masks and observing social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic. New York City remains under a 8 PM daily curfew imposed by Mayor Bill de Blasio in response to nights of looting and vandalism.
