Air pollution in cities of Greece has surged in recent days because of people choosing wood over more expensive fuels to heat their homes in the grips of a continuing economic crisis. Illegal logging has surged also in Greece as Forest Authorities reported that illegal logging activities across the country accounts for up to 30 percent of all lost forestland.
