Lord Macaulay', circa 1850, (circa 1884). Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1st Baron Macaulay, (1800-1859) British historian and Whig politician, educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. Served as Secretary of War 1839-1841and Paymaster-General during the reign of Queen Victoria. Introduced British language education to India.
