Langley Collyer Shouting from Window

(Original Caption) Langley Collyer, the Harlem recluse, makes a public appearance from one of the dingy upper story windows of the ramshackle New York brownstone that houses himself and his white-haired crippled brother, Homer, another recluse. He loudly invites assistance against "invaders," actually public officials' cleanup squads who were sent to tidy up the cluttered property, on orders of the bank which has foreclosed the mortgage on the property at 2078 Fifth Avenue.
