Recently it saved his life. -- Kurt Kelsey shows off the scar from surgery in which a defibrillator was implanted in his abdomen when he was 35. It wasnít until he was 41, that the defibrillator did its job, jolting his heart back to normal when it began beating too fast in his sleep. His life was saved and a new medical study confirms that defibrillators can save the lives of young people who are prone to sudden death in the prime of life because of a disease known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
