Irving Berlin Playing Piano

(Original Caption) A Keyboard of Memories. New York: Scratches, cigarette burns and yellow ivory all make up a keyboard of memories for Irving Berlin. The 74-year-old, famed songwriter retired for the past 12 years, stands with his fingers on the broken keys of a piano which he bought over a half-century ago and since then has travelled thousands of miles with him. Tin Pan Alley, once again rings with the musical strings created by the songwriter in the production of Mr. President opened recently in New York's Great White Way.
