Indian Forces Increase Number Of Bunkers In Kashmir

SRINAGAR, KASHMIR, INDIA - MARCH 15: Kashmiri Muslim women walk past Indian paramilitary soldier guarding his bunkers on a main road, on March 15, 2021 in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir, India. Thousands of military bunkers were erected in the 1989 armed rebellion, and many of these sandbag bunkers are being removed to pave the way for concrete ones. In recent months, frisking of residents and checking of vehicles by Indian government forces, especially in the evening hours, has increased in Srinagar. Officials say this is part of measures to prevent the militant movement and militant attacks in the city. (Photo by Yawar Nazir/Getty Images)
