Texas Iraq War Veteran Struggles to Cope with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome

MCALLEN, TEXAS - JULY 21: Jesus Bocanegra, 24, talks during a therapy session at a Veterans Administration clinic July 21, 2006 in McAllen, Texas. Bocanegra has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, a result of his service in Iraq in 2003-04. As part of his recovery, he attends support groups and therapy sessions frequently. Other veterans suffering from PTSD are not always able to, if they don't have Veteran's Affairs (VA) facilities where they live. Bocanegra often speaks of his desire to return to the past, ?I?d give anything to go back to the way I was,? he says. Now Bocanegra is on several anti-depression drugs and struggles to recover from the mental strain of a year at war. (Photo by Chris Hondros/Getty Images)
