More than 30,000 people have died in Gaza as a result of the war, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The Israeli government says that between 100 and 130 hostages remain captive in Gaza, after being kidnapped by Hamas militants in a surprise Oct. 7 attack that left around 1,200 dead in Israel.
