Ingo K. arrives for the first day of his trial at the Oberlandesgericht Stuttgart courthouse for the attempted murder of police officers on April 05, 2023 in Stuttgart, Germany. Ingo K., a member of the so-called Reichsbuerger scene, is accused of having shot at police officers who were attempting to execute a search warrant of K.'s home in Boxberg in 2022. Ingo K. fired several volleys of bullets from an automatic weapon, hitting one office in the legs and injuring another at the elbow. Reichsbuerger, or "empire citizens," deny the existence of the current German federal republic and seek the recreation of Germany according to its pre-1914 or pre-1937 borders. In a separate case police arrested a group of Reichsbuerger in December of last year that included a prince, a former parliamentarian and numerous police and military members who were planning to overthrow the German government.
