Home Guards ' Own Hospital, Home Guards now have their own hospital. The first in the country has been opened in Essex and it contains two wards, a surgery, an operating theatre, and a foot clinic. The staff is voluntary, and all the equipment has been supplied by members. Many of the Home Guard are married men whose families have been evacuated. The hospital is available for them if the fall ill. - Mr J.A.E.
