Headmaster of Wellington College Sir Anthony Seldon.
Sir Anthony Francis Seldon, FRSA FRHistS FKC (born 2 August 1953), is a contemporary historian, commentator and political author, known in part for his biographies of John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He is the 13th Master (headmaster) of Wellington College, one of Britain's prominent co-educational independent boarding schools. In 2009, he set up The Wellington Academy, the first state school to carry the name of its founding independent school.
Wellington College is a British co-educational boarding and day independent school in the village of Crowthorne in Berkshire. Wellington currently has just over 1000 pupils aged between 13 and 18. It was built as a national monument to the Duke of Wellington (1769–1852), after whom the School is named. Her Majesty Queen Victoria laid the foundation stone in 1856 and inaugurated the School's public opening on 29 January 1859.
