Trautmann Injured
German goalkeeper Bert Trautmann (1923 - 2013, second from left), of Manchester City FC, leaves the field with an injured neck at the end of the FA Cup Final against Birmingham City at Wembley Stadium, London, 5th May 1956. Trautmann had been injured in a collision with Birmingham's Peter Murphy 17 minutes from the end of the match, but continued to play, making saves, which enabled his team to maintain their 3-1 lead and win the cup. Medical examination later revealed that Trautmann had been playing with a broken neck. (Photo by Popperfoto via Getty Images/Getty Images)
