Christchurch Cathedral remains in ruins after it was badly damaged during the February 22, 2011 earthquake in Christchurch on February 21, 2012 nearly one year after a 6.3 quake hit New Zealand's second largest city, killing 185 people, flattening office blocks, buckling roads and bringing historic buildings crashing down.
