Pope Francis Dons A Fireman's Helmet As He Greets Pilgrims In St Peter's Square

ROME, VATICAN - OCTOBER 16: As he rode around St. Peter's Square in his Popemobile, waving to the crowd, Pope Francis stopped to greet a group of Italian voluntary firefighters dressed in black and yellow, who handed him a fire helmet on October 16, 2013 at Vatican.'Shall I wear it?' he asked, before popping it onto his head, drawing smiles and applause. The volunteer firefighters also gave the pope a frame with the symbol of the firefighters corps, a flame with two bells on the sides.The pope has made it a habit to greet the thousands of faithful who come to St. Peter's Square to attend his weekly audience by personally driving around for 30 minutes.
