Marguerite Churchill Modeling

(Original Caption) An Old-Fashioned Nightie. This ancient nightgown of heavy bleached muslin, straight lines and side gores, made in 1830, was one of the prize winner in the "Threads of Happiness" contest in New York, for old-fashioned costumes, all hand-sewn, sponsored by the Spool Cotton Institute. Miss Marguerite Churchill, stage and screen star, models it. The width around the bottom measures 3 1/4 yards; the length touches the floor. It has long sleeves, high neck, finished with a ruffle. The seams sewn with cotton six cord thread have held through all these years.
