The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has led members of the media on a tour of the Kerem Shalom Crossing in Gaza, following international condemnation of Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The World Health Organization has said it is "witnessing a deadly surge in malnutrition-related deaths," while more than 100 aid organizations, including Save the Children and Mèdecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), issued an open letter warning of mass starvation in Gaza, and imploring Israeli authorities to provide safe access to food aid.
