Israeli Army Inducts New Recruits

Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke to the young recruits at the IDF Induction Center this morning on various security issues including the terror attack in Bulgaria and the conflict in Syria and stated "State of Israel cannot accept a situation whereby advanced weapons systems are transferred from Syria to Lebanon". National military service is mandatory for all Israeli citizens over the age of 18 in accordance with the Israeli Security Service Law, which also defines rules for persons who may be exempt from service.
