A Day With Alfie Dingley
KENILWORTH, ENGLAND - JANUARY 13: Alfie Dingley's father Drew Dingley prepares his son's cannabis oil medicine at Kenilworth Castle on January 13, 2019 in Kenilworth, England. Alfie Dingley, aged seven, suffers from PCDH19 which is a rare form of epilepsy that causes seizure clusters and learning difficulties. In June 2018, Alfie was granted a special license by the Home Office to use medicinal cannabis oil to treat his condition. Prior to taking his cannabis-based medicine, the recurrent seizures saw Alfie being rushed to hospital every 4-7 days but since taking cannabis oil Alfie has been seizure-free since July 2018. This treatment has allowed him to take up physical activities like cycling and horse riding. His mother, Hannah Deacon, continues to campaign for access to medicinal cannabis after newly published medical guidelines restrict its use. This currently leaves Alfie as the only holder of an NHS prescription for cannabis oil in the country. (Photo by Jack Taylor/Getty Images)
