Adam Thirlwell, English writer, circa February 2008. Thirlwell has written a number of Novels including Politics (2003), The Escape (2007) and Lurid & Cute (2015). He also wrote Miss Herbert (2007), an essay-book on translation which won a Somerset Maugham Award. Thirlwell's work is translated into 30 languages and has twice been selected as one of Grantas Best of Young British Novelists. In 2018, he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
