  • Lyrics: The Pallisades Hotel…tel. Suddenlya thick sweet breeze from undulant vast……ness of the pacifi……c brushed my face like a hand on a child one evening at the Pallisades Ho…A long, long time ago and far, far away, there once lived people with three heads, one in their stomachs, one in their loins and one between their shoulders. The loin brain thought about reproduction, the stomach brain thought about nourishment and the head brain thought all the other thoughts, the pure good thoughts. As human beings developed, these two other brains began to atrophy and wither away, becoming just nebulous lumps of gristle amongst the internal organs, like the appendix. This meant that all those food thoughts and sex thoughts ascended into the head brain causing all sorts of confusion, the sort of psychological conflict with which we are all so tragically familiar. But this head brain is also beginning to wither away, which is why people’s heads are getting gradually smaller. In another million years, we will simply be short, stocky, headless, sightless creatures, running into buildings and trees. So much for the future of humanity.
