Bio:
I am a graduate of Winona State University, in Winona, MN where I live with my husband and two children. At WSU I earned a degree in communication studies and music. I began a more serious pursuit of sharing my music after losing my nephew to cancer; as my family and I helped with the music for the funerals of both my nephew (Bryce, 2006) and then soon after his father (Tim, 2008). The experience is teaching me the importance of appreciating each day and pushes me on to living the best life I can.
The children's cd project came together slowly. As I started songwriting to entertain my children at home, the idea of doing a business parnership with Hands of Hope began to take shape. I was encouraged by my family to record the songs I wrote for my kids. Each one was insprired by some funny or sweet moment I had with them while at home. I also put the two lullabies I wrote for each of them on the cd towards the end as I hoped that other mom's would enjoy them too. I am pledging to give 15% of "Trains, Cars & A Trip To Mars" to Hands of Hope, a non-profit started in memory of my nephew Bryce. Hands of Hope gives monetary aid to families with children with cancer or other life-altering illnesses.
Currently I am performing monthly with my sister Wilhelmina and we are working on a rock/Americana album called, "Embrace" (Wilhelmina & Grace) and plan to release fall/winter of 2011.
