Bio:
Artist Bio: Jay began playing rock and roll/blues in the 60’s and 70’s. For many years what he refers to as “real life” kept him away from his passion. During a 2004 Hawaiian vacation he attended a slack key festival featuring many of the top musicians in the field, and knew immediately that it was time to pick up the guitar again. Although the music seemed to come easily to him, he attended several guitar camps on the Island of Molokai sponsored and taught by slack-key greats such as Keola Beamer, Sonny Lim and Kevin Brown. Since that time, he says, “the tunes began falling out of my guitar”. Fortunately he recorded his early efforts. With patience and untold hours of experimenting, the 12 original tracks of “Walkin’ on the Jetty” emerged. All 12 tracks were composed, performed, recorded and mixed at Spinning Dolphin Music. This CD is slack key inspired with influence from his years of playing blues and rock & roll. All of it is played from the heart.
