Joshua R. Mosley is an award winning composer & producer for film, television, video games and recording artist. His work can be heard on projects for clients such as Sony, CW Network, Mattel, Discovery Channel, Bravo, Tru TV, Axe Body Spray, National Geographic, NATAS, Microsoft, Nintendo, PS3, XBOX and Twisted Pixel.
Joshua was born on May 18th, 1980 in Tarzana, California. Mosley stems from a distinguished background of musicians. His Grandfather, Robert Douglass, was a professional bassist and arranger who played with such a-list stars as, Tony Bennett, Lou Armstrong, and Peggy Lee. His band, the Chuck Miller trio signed to Mercury Records in the 50s and had a hit single "The House of Blue Lights". From a very young age Joshua's mother encouraged him and taught him everything she knew about music. Joshua played piano and trumpet through his child and adolescent years, but it wasn't until after he graduated from high school that he knew he was destined for a career in the music industry.
At the age of 18 Joshua's ambition and talent caught the eye of a talent manager in 1999. This provided and opportunity to write a demo song for Jessica Sands (Daughter of Tommy Sands); who is now signed to RCA. In October 2000 Joshua started his professional career with Soundrama. During his time there he made many contributions in the industry and built a solid reputation for himself. He got his first gig with Sound Transit, the leading transportation organization for the Seattle area, wrote for three national games; one of which was an official game of the US Navy, arranged for TV shows, and produce and release the successful R&B album, "Trademark", from artist Taylor Mosley.
In 2001 Joshua had the good fortune to meet award winning film composer, Hummie Mann, under whom he studied and increased his knowledge in music composition, theory, and knowledge of the industry. Hummie saw the potential in Joshua and hired him as an arranger under his supervision on two television projects. This has led to a personal and professional relationship with Hummie. In his own words, "Joshua Mosley is a creative young composer who constantly impresses me with the quality and diversity of his work. He is a very gifted individual who will make a mark on the industry in the years to come".
In December 2004 Joshua ventured out from Soundrama and founded Selah Productions LLC. It has proven to be a successful move. Joshua has continued to work on many more film, television and video game projects. He has been honored with 7 Telly Awards, an Aurora Award and Apex Award. Joshua Mosley is a person who prides himself in integrity in all areas of his life. He is a talented, multi-faceted composer who is capable of writing many genres of music.
