Stephen Rippy is a Dallas, TX area composer with more than a decade of experience writing and recording original soundtracks for games.
Until its closure, Stephen provided music and sound design for Microsoft Ensemble Studios - notably scoring the popular and award-winning "Age of Empires" series, the spin-off title "Age of Mythology," and "Halo Wars," a best-selling action strategy game for the X-Box 360 set in Bungie Studio's Halo universe.
While at Bonfire Studios, Stephen composed music for three mobile titles including ngmoco’s "Adventure Bay" and Microsoft’s "Game Chest" series. Stephen is currently Audio Director at Zynga, Inc. following the company’s acquisition of Bonfire in late 2010.
Maintaining a separate body of work as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Stephen has independently released nine full-length albums of original material since 1996; the most recent of these is 2009’s "Somewhere Close to Near."
Stephen continues to work out of his home studio and is likely thinking about gettng started on his next record.
